For as much as C$465 million, live casino major Evolution Gaming has agreed to acquire developer Nolimit City as part of its continuous efforts to expand its footprint in the slots market.
With the purchase of Nolimit City, Evolution’s stable of slot producers increases to four. The 2020 acquisition of slot game company NetEnt, who owned Red Tiger Gaming, marked the beginning of Evolution’s expansion into this market.
The slot maker Big Time Gaming, creators of the Megaways game engine, will be acquired by Evolution in 2021.
An official statement from Evolution’s board of directors reads, “The acquisition is in line with Evolution’s strategy of being the world’s number one provider of online casino games, supplying its customers with the best gaming content.”
Jens von Bahr, the chairman of Evolution, has praised the innovative ideas provided by Nolimit City.
“With the addition of Nolimit City to the Evolution family, we extend our portfolio of truly innovative and cutting edge games from the top brands and game makers in the industry,” von Bahr says.

The acquisition of Nolimit City is scheduled to close in the third quarter of 2022, following the receipt of all required permissions from the appropriate authorities.
